To facilitate the industry’s compliance with environmental monitoring and audit, the HKGTI plans to offer a certification service for environmental monitoring equipment. Manufacturers or suppliers may apply to the HKGTI for certification of their monitoring equipment. A list of certified equipment will be published on the HKGTI website for reference by contractors and consultants, thereby ensuring compliance with equipment quality and standards. Furthermore, this certification platform provides a suitable gateway for equipment developed in the Chinese Mainland to “go global”.

Sewage Surveillance for Infectious Diseases
This sewage virus monitoring system has been fully operational in Hong Kong since 2020 to combat COVID-19. During the peak of the fifth wave of the pandemic in early 2022, robust statistical models have been developed to help Hong Kong predict the epidemic trend.
